We trace the beginning of Cabinets by Graber back to a small wooden converted hog barn where Chris Graber and his family began their woodworking journey. As a member of the old order Amish church in late 60’s, Amish farmer Chris Graber found himself working a full shift at a local cabinet factory. When his shift was over he went home and milked eight cows by hand and then out to his converted barn (a primitive woodworking shop by today’s standards!) where he made chairs, tables, hall trees, redwood hot tub skirts, pallets, turned baseball bats, made neck yokes, double trees and other miscellaneous items for the local farmers. |

In the early ‘70s the farmer made woodworking his full time occupation. He left the cabinet shop where he was working and Chris, with his sons at his side, began what has now evolved into Cabinets by Graber.
“I wanted to do something where I could be at home and also work next to my boys." Chris Graber, Founder and President.
It was not an easy journey. As the building grew to accommodate the expanding business so did the number of employees. In 1989 there was a fire in the shop and the shop burned to the ground.
| After praying for guidance, Chris knew he had to persevere. “You only fail if you give up,” Chris said. When the decision was made to rebuild, within days over two hundred people gathered from the local community and the shop was rebuilt in two days. |

Over the years the business has prospered and by the turn of the century a change was emanate. Although Chris is still true to many of the Amish traditions, the demand for his quality products necessitated the evolution into a modern manufacturing facility including adding electricity to over 50,000sq.ft. and growing to a family of 70 highly skilled and trained employees.
Today Cabinets By Graber products are found in homes and businesses throughout the United States with the client base steadily expanding. It seems each customer has generated a few more and today Cabinets By Graber has made quality custom cabinetry for over 5,500 families! With a group of dedicated cabinetmakers, Cabinets By Graber is among the best custom cabinet making shops in the United States.
On any given day you will find one of Chris' 33 (and still counting) grandchildren in the shop learning the custom cabinet business.
The family at Cabinets by Graber is thankful for many things which the Lord has provided. With the help of the Lord and a group of hardworking partners, Cabinets by Graber has become one of the most unique cabinetmakers in America.
