Why should I invest in custom cabinetry?
Custom cabinetry is designed to fit your lifestyle and meet your needs. It is custom fitted to your home and there will never be another kitchen exactly like yours. Ours are made with quality materials using construction methods that will assure your cabinets will be around for generations to come.
Cabinets by Graber custom cabinets offer many things.
First, a custom kitchen is one of the best investments you can make in your home. It increases the value of your home not only in dollars, but also in aesthetic and design appeal. Custom kitchen cabinets are worlds apart in finish applications, construction methods, space utilization, and design. A well designed and built kitchen will be money wisely invested. You will recoup 85-100+% of the value of a remodel.
Second, our custom cabinets are built to meet any heigth, depth, or width requirement. We can incorporate design elements from a piece of art, furniture or another area in your home to your kitchen.
Finally, we use all wood products and old world style craftsmanship to make your cabinets. From the veneer core plywood boxes to the 5/8" maple full extension dovetailed drawers, we take care of the finest details. Our cabinets are hand crafted one at a time and we don't start on your cabinets until you place your order.
We may not be the least expensive (although it's very possible!) and we probably won't be the most expensive either. What we offer you is manufacturer direct pricing so if you are comparing custom cabinets to custom cabinets you will find we are 10-40% less. We encourage you to have us create a complimentary design for you so you can see for yourself.

Why should I buy directly from the manufacturer?
That's an easy one. There are two main reasons. Number one is it saves you money. The average customer saves anywhere from 10-40% by purchasing our cabinets. We don't have the expense of large showrooms all over the country so we pass that savings along to you.
Secondly, you are dealing directly with the people who are making your custom cabinets and if you should ever need something in the future, you have direct access to the factory. We keep your project details along with color codes so that if you should ever need to add something in the future to your home (and it happens more than you think!) we can make it fairly simply.

I can't come visit your showroom in Indiana. How can I buy from you without seeing your products?- How do we compensate for not having a showroom for you to go to?
One of the biggest concerns we get from customers is the distance factor. Showrooms are a costly endeavor. They create addtional overhead and therefore are an addtional expense for you. To keep our prices down and in order to offer you factory direct pricing, typically 10-40% less, we need to depend a little more on technology. With the internet so readily available we are able to utilize various partner websites to help with the details such as corbels and posts etc.
If you aren't able to make it to a Home and Garden Show we are doing in your area to see, touch and feel our product firsthand, we will work with you via phone, mail, email and fax. We will send you samples so you can see the product firsthand in your own environment and match it to your paint and flooring. When you have chosen a door style we can also make a sample door complete with frame and drawer front in the wood and color of your choice.
Chances are we have a kitchen installed in your area and our customers are generally very happy to have you come see their kitchen! We can also give you a list of references of people who originally had the same concerns you have. You can talk to them about the process and ask them your questions. With our new Client Login you will be in constant contact with your client service team and you will be able to track the progress of your project!

How are your cabinets constructed?
Our craftsmanship is second to none. We have married modern technology with old world craftsmanship. Many tasks long ago delegated to machines of mass production are still done by hand at Cabinets By Graber. We build our cabinets the old-fashioned way, one at a time, using construction methods that date back many centuries like dovetail construction and tongue and groove joinery. Our skilled craftsmen have successfully integrated these time-honored methods with modern CNC milling equipment and computer aided design. We use all wood materials including veneer core plywood for the box construction.

When is it appropriate to invest in a Certified Kitchen Designer/ CKD (R) or Certified Bath Designer/ CBD (R)?
Cabinets by Graber offers a complimentary design service from our team of designers. Our designers have decades of custom cabinetry design experience and do a great job designing your projects. From the measurements you provide us with we can design the cabinetry in your home.
If you prefer for someone to sit down with you in your home and talk about moving walls, putting colors together, choosing flooring and everything related to your kitchen, we recommend you hire a design professional.
Let us just say that good interior designers and kitchen and bath designers are worth their weight in gold! It's one of the best investments you will make in your home. A designer will not only help you design a fashionable kitchen, he/she will work through all of the elements in the kitchen to create a wonderful functioning space.
CAVEAT: Before you choose a designer, check with him/her to verify that you may choose any cabinet company you would like. As a consumer, it is your right to be able to use companies outside of the lines a designer may be carrying.

How can I make my cabinets more environmentally friendly?
We offer a variety of environmentally friendly choices such as Lyptus wood and formaldehyde-free glue. Please ask your sales associate or designer about these products. If you research something that you would like for us to use we will be happy to explore your products as well.

I need help knowing which walls to move etc. Can you help with this?
If you are remodeling, your general contractor will help you make those decisions. If you are building, your architect or builder will help you with this.

How can you design my kitchen if you can't see it?
In order to save you 10-40% on your custom kitchen, we work with you as a team to design your kitchen. We work through mail and email to help you design your kitchen. Send us as many photos from magazines as you can. We welcome as much input from you as you are willing to give! If you are looking for an extremely involved design, we may suggest you invest in a local certified kitchen designer (CKD). That investment is typiclaly worth every penny!

How do your prices compare to...
We are often asked how we compare to other custom cabinet companies in price. First, we don't price shop our competition so it's difficult to say. We focus on offering a quality product at a fair value and that's our first concern. Second, we listen intently to what our customers tell us. We are consistently told we are 10-40% less than other custom cabinet companies. On occasion we have even come in less than semi-custom prices. (Once you start adding all of the upgrades such as all wood options, full extension and soft close in semi-custom you will find you can get into the custom cabinet pricing level very quickly.)
Most consumers shop an average of three cabinet companies before making a decision to purchase. In relation to custom cabinetry, it is very difficult to truly compare "apples to apples". There are thousands of cabinet companies in the US. Door styles, accessories and finish choices can significantly impact price. We recommend that you finalize one design and present it to each company for a quote. You need to know what the standard features each companies offer are and make sure all companies are quoting the same things. Here are a few things to make sure you are consistent with across all companies: door style, finish, wood species, materials cabinet box is made of, material drawers are made of, and what are the standard features (full extension, soft close etc).
Note: We believe in doing business based on honesty, trust and respect. If we give you a price for your project please know we have given you the best price to start with. We don't believe in inflating the price and negotiating it down. We believe that is dishonest and disrespectful. If you need the price to be adjusted we can certainly make suggestions on how to fit into your economic parameters by looking at a different door style, wood species, or finish.

What is the average investment for custom kitchen cabinets?
Custom cabinet prices can vary greatly in price depending on door style, wood species, finish, accessories and size of project. Our projects typically range from $15,000 all the way to a very large house full of custom cabinets for $250,000 and every size of project in between.
We have found that most people who are looking at kitchen cabinets under $20,000 are comparing us to a semi-custom line and we will not compete at that price level. Think about a home phone that is attached to your wall and compare it to a cell phone. Both send and receive phone calls. That is where the similarities end. A cell phone can be taken anywhere, it can send and receive text messages, take photos and videos, send and receive email, connect to the internet and just about anything else you want it to do. Completely different "pieces and parts" are used to construct each phone. It is the same with cabinets. Custom cabinets can be tailored to custom fit all of your needs.

Do you ship all over the US?
Yes! And we've even delivered to Grand Cayman and the Middle East!

How do you ship the cabinets?
To pack the cabinets we use a white foam wrap around all individual pieces and then we shrink wrap around that. After the shrink wrap we carefully wrap each piece in heavy blankets made specifically for this application and place them on our own vehicles to deliver your cabinetry to you. We use our own vehicles for delivery 98% of the time. The other 2% we ship them via one of our trusted carriers wrapped them same way.
For overseas deliveries we will deliver to a US port.

Who installs my cabinets?
Outside of Indiana, typically we will leave that to your General Contractor or Builder. More times than not, he/she will have someone he/she prefers to use. If not, we can recommend installers in the area if you ask us. We do have a team who can install and if you are more than 3 hours from our shop you can generally find it locally for a more economical price.
Note: Because we assemble your cabinets in larger pieces, you should typically save money on installation! Your installer will typically use less time to install our cabinets. Our cabinets are set up in the factory just as they will be in your home prior to our quality inspection and then blanket wrapped for shipping.

Do you charge sales tax?
In some of our neighboring states we are required to charge sales tax. In most states the customer is responsible for paying it.

Who is responsible for measuring my project?
We are! That's right. We will come and measure your project.

When can I expect my cabinets?
We don't start building your cabinets until you have placed your order. From the time you endorse your agreement and place your deposit, on average it's 6-12 weeks for us to deliver your custom cabinets. Please let us know the minute you have a delivery date in mind so we work diligently to meet that deadline.

What do I need to do to prepare for my field measure?
The most important criteria for your cabinet measure is to have your final framing configuration in place. We will work with your contractor to obtain information such as drywall thickness, final floor thickness and casing and baseboard width and thickness. This allows us to make sure your cabinets fit perfectly when they arrive at your home. Do not wait until your drywall is in place to order your cabinets.

You said my project is in layout. What does that mean?
The layout department produces your productions drawings (the plans your cabinets are built from.) This is where the "fine tuning" is done for your project. Your cabinets will be fine tuned to the nearest 1/16". They will produce your final drawings for you to endorse and return to us. Each layout person handles several projects at one time so it may take several weeks for this portion of your job to be complete. If your layout team member contacts you with questions please make sure you respond promptly.

Can you do my counter tops too?
We offer Silestone, Granite and wood tops. Unless you are within a two hour radius of our showroom, the only we can offer at a competitive price is the wood tops. And we are very competitive on those.

How much more is cherry than maple?
Lumber prices vary throughout the year. On average, you may factor in an additional ten percent for cherry.
